1. Smooth Inner Wall: Ideal for High Flow & Precise Control in Rubber Hoses
A smooth bore rubber hose has an inner wall that’s completely smooth, with no wrinkles or ridges. First, this smooth surface lets media (like air, water, or oil) flow freely—no barriers to slow it down. As a result, smooth bore rubber hoses deliver very high fluid transfer capacity. If you need precise flow control (e.g., in chemical processing or food production), a smooth bore design is better. Its even inner wall won’t disrupt flow with irregularities.

Smooth inner walls also make drainage easier. After use, media won’t get trapped in crevices—critical for food-grade rubber hoses (to avoid contamination) or oil rubber hoses (to prevent residue buildup).

A ripple wall rubber hose (also called a corrugated inner wall hose) has a tube wall folded in a specific pattern.
